Yes, you CAN organize and lead an Ski Club event. In fact,
we encourage you to do this! It's only 3 easy steps:
|
1. Think of an event that you would like to attendand that you would like other Club members to join.
For
example, you may want to go to a jazz concert and think your ski club friends would enjoy it too. Or, you may love to cook and share
food, so you can organize a club pot luck. To find activities, head to
our San Francisco
and Bay Area Activities page. There you'll find event
calendars, movies, live music, performing arts, museums, and many upcoming
events.
|
|
2. Contact
our Activities Director,
Cathy Otto, by e-mailing her
the proposed specifics (along with your phone number and an e-mail
address). Try to give as much advance notice as possible, since we
need time to get the activity approved and then advertised. Cathy will get back to you approving the event, or possibly to discuss changes
to your proposal to meet standards for official club activities.
|
 |
3. Once
the event is approved, send an email to our Activities
Director the announcement
as you would like it to read. Include a proposed title, for the Web
site calendar. In the body of the announcement, include the time, date,
gathering place, parking and car pooling info, cost, your cell phone and
other contact information, what
to bring, whether or not guests are allowed, any deadline to sign up, etc.
Write the
announcement exactly
as you would like it to appear, phrased appropriately for e-mail broadcasts and
the Web site. So please do not
refer to yourself in the first person! Attach a photo to your
email (do not embed the photo into the message) that we can add to the e-mail broadcasts and the Web site, to dress up
your announcement. All event announcements must be approved by and go
through the Activities Director. Thank you for helping to build a
better ski club!
