Club Cabin Information

The San Francisco Ski and Snowboard Club has rented one or more cabins or condominiums in the north Lake Tahoe or Truckee area during every Singles League race weekend, from Friday afternoon at 3:00 p.m. until Sunday at noon, or in some cases longer. The club has also been willing to rent a cabin at any other time during the ski season that six or more members are in need of a place to stay for a minimum of two days. The cabin will be available to club members and their guests.

If you are interested in staying at a club cabin, we ask that you please do the following:

1. Be a current San Francisco Ski Club member.

2. Individuals with expired memberships may not make reservations to stay at the cabin and will be charged the guest fee if staying as the guest of a current member.

3. Contact the Cabin Director Vanessa Himelblau and advise her of the following: a. dates desired, b. type of room, bed (couples, single, will share etc), c. names of guests, if any.

4. The Cabin Director will then contact you to advise if space is available.

5. If you do confirm the reservation, you are then committed to payment. A waiver will be sent to you via e-mail and we will need you to sign the waiver and to send a check in advance of your stay to the San Francisco Ski Club.

The cabin’s cancellation policy is as follows:
Cancellation Policy: Once a reservation is accepted, you are committed to pay for that reservation. If you paid regular cabin rates and then need to cancel, and there is a wait list with a person to take your sp ot, you may sell your spot to that person. If no wait list and you paid regular cabin rates, you may sell your spot to another member. If you are not able to sell your spot, you may transfer your reservation to another weekend or mid-week period – no full or partial refunds will be given.

Members of the San Francisco Ski Club have been offered the periodic use of Moose Lodge, a rental cabin in Tahoe City, for this winter season. It does not appear that we have to have to go through much red tape in order to secure it.

You may want to secure this house privately for you and your friends, or you may want to join your ski club friends there. There is no restriction on contacting this owner directly. Please do let Risa Meyer know your plans, and whether or not she can help.

Rental spaces with other ski clubs have several restrictions and may not be reserved directly. Those reservations must be made through our club's coordinator, and must be made a week prior to the weekend you would like to reserve.

A summary of the costs for the Moose Lodge cabin are as follows:

A non-holiday weekend costs $430 plus a $250 refundable deposit. A holiday weekend costs $496 plus a $250 refundable deposit.

The unit is located in the Lake Forest Glen complex just outside Tahoe City and is very close to the community Hot Tub / Sauna that are open all year. (Just past the Safeway shopping center and Jake's on the Lake.)

The association provides regular plowing in winter so access is great. Moose Lodge is close to the heart of Tahoe City, and the major resorts of Squaw Valley, Alpine and North Star. The North Shore casinos are within a short drive to if that's your thing.

The unit is remodeled and has 3 bedrooms (Queen, Full and full-twin bunk-room), 1½ baths, heated kitchen and bath floors and a gas fireplace.

The departure cleaning/linens charge of $100 includes all linens and towels. Placer county room tax of 10% is charged on the rental fee only. A refundable security/damage deposit of $250 is required in addition to the nightly rental amount. Rental rates are $150 per night for non-holiday dates and $180 for holidays.

Please - no-smoking, no pets - either will result in your immediate departure, full forfeiture of the deposit and any remaining rental day’s fees.
